There are a lot of options when you consider updating your kitchen even though you can’t afford a full remodel. Use these tips to give your kitchen a new identity.

1) Mount hooks to hold your dish towel and other most used utensils. If you don’t have a backsplash, you can hang them under your cabinets, or maybe a nearby wall. Multiple decorative hooks will serve a purpose and look pretty at the same time.

2) Turn upper cabinets into shelving by removing the doors. This seems to be one of the easiest things you can do. Now, if your cabinets are less than pretty on the inside, you will have to tend to that issue. Either paint, wallpaper or some other idea you have. Something creative will pay off and make the cabinets the stars of the kitchen.

3) Add in a built-in soap dispenser to your counter top. This is an easy install. If you have a stone countertop, you will most likely have to hire a contractor to cut the hole for you, but after that, you can really install this yourself and hide that dishwashing soap bottle for good!

4) Add under cabinet lighting. They sell these at the home improvement store and make them so you can install them yourself. If you really think you can’t master them, try rope lighting. Add it under the cabinets and create a similar lighting effect.

5) Add crown molding to the tops of your kitchen cabinets if they  do not go to the ceiling. Just go out, buy some crown molding, paint or stain to go with your cabinets. You will make it look like you have high end cabinetry and a custom job to boot.

Each of these tips can be done for under $100. Your new kitchen awaits for you to change it up and have your friends over to share in your makeover delights! What are you waiting for?
