Looking to connect two cotton based fabrics together with a sort of thick double sided patch?

Looking to connect two cotton based fabrics together with a sort of thick double sided patch using an iron to place it on. I’m looking for the patch to be thick enough to prevent seepage from one side of the cloth to the other. The end result will be a sandwich cloth that is somewhat water proof because the middle layer will be preventing the seepage. I know there are materials out there I just don’t know the name.

The product you want is Steam A Seam 2. You trim this to the same size as your fabric. Iron to the wrong side of one fabric, remove the paper and iron the second fabric on.
