How do you trim the wick on a Zippo?
I just bought a Zippo over the weekend, and I’m wondering how to trim the wick on the lighter. The wick is unraveling alot and it’s a mess inside the chimney. I tried trimming the wick and it works now with a cleaner wick, but I want to know the “proper” way to trim the wick.
Also, is it okay if I have some leftover packing material (from inside the lighter, the cotton stuff that holds the fuel) after I attempted to trim the wick? I have some cotton left that I couldn’t re-pack (less than half a cotton ball)…
Pull the wick out just enough to get rid of the black and cut it off. There sould only be white wick showing when you cut. easy as hell.
