Can custom furniture be made smaller after it is finished?
We had a sofa and 2 chairs custom made. They are beautiful but the backs are too tall for our home. We just realized it after they were delivered today. They are upholstered, NOT slipcovered. Can the backs be cut about 4″ and reupholstered?
yes but as you know it will cost you a good penny once a custom job is done the maker hates going back and making changes after the finish product. 1. they don’t have any more of the upholstery.2. now its more time spent on a finish product. you should check with the maker some wont do it unless they remake the whole thing. good luck.
